What can people expect from your set at Homesexual: Enchanted Forest?
A very energetic set with plenty of vocals and a lot of my new remixes, including my new ‘Telephone’ and ‘Alejandro’ mixes from Lady Gaga.
How would you describe your sound?
This depends on the event. From energetic progressive/tribal with vocals, to deep house and tech, but all events have my signature ‘bounce’, as some call it.
What are you listening to at the moment?
Lately I've been REALLY digging Lady Gaga and the impact she's having on the gay dance scene. But I always try to have a foot in several genres so as not to get stuck with any one particular style or artist.
Do you think your Portuguese heritage has had any influence on your sound?
Absolutely. I feel music deep in my gut and in my hips – that's VERY Portuguese.
In your opinion, is there a pronounced difference between playing for a gay crowd and a straight crowd?
I think so yes. A gay crowd is a bit more finicky about their musical tastes and less forgiving.
What would you say your career highlight has been so far and why?
From a remixer's point of view, Interscope picking up my mix of ‘Bad Romance’ was sweet. But this year is looking like it will shape up to be my biggest year DJ-wise so far.
What do you hope to do next in your career?
God willing, continue to excel in production and to throw my own party. Also I'd like to venture into other aspects of music. As much as I love DJing, I can't be doing it forever with these crazy hours so I'm always looking for the next thing.
